About FFSC

The mission of FFSC is to monitor the development of a sustainable agricultural industry that advances the human rights of farmworkers, the long-term interests of growers, and the ethical supply chain concerns of retail food companies through implementation of the Fair Food Program (FFP), a unique worker-led, market-driven social responsibility program that emerged from the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ successful Campaign for Fair Food. The FFP has been recognized by human rights experts as “the best workplace-monitoring program” in the US and “one of the great human rights success stories of our day.” To learn more, please see the FFSC’s annual report.

Compensation starts at $45k annually and ranges commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, and life insurance; 20 days of paid vacation and five days of paid sick time; parental leave policies; an employer-matched 401(k) plan; all federal holidays; organization-wide break the week between Christmas and New Years; and an optional two-month unpaid sabbatical once every three years.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Comfort with technology, including MS Office, databases, and project management tools
  • Commitment to human rights and the mission of the Fair Food Program
  • Ability to interact well with people of different nationalities, genders, and education levels

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and assistance to FFSC’s Management Committee and FFP leadership
  • Ensure that the FFP meets filing deadlines for multiple agencies and registrations, including but not limited to:
    • Charitable organization registrations
    • Insurance renewals
    • Grant reports
  • Incorporate feedback from staff into the creation and modification of public-facing materials, such as flyers, PowerPoints, and graphics
  • Assist with the onboarding of new staff
  • Arrange travel logistics for staff, including for FFSC’s audit team
  • Assist with tracking correspondence in the organization’s databases
  • Schedule Zoom meetings and monitor/update the calendars as necessary
  • Perform other related assignments as necessary
